Open data
We release non-sensitive data to the public to:
- be transparent about government performance
- provide opportunities for financial, social, environmental, and economic benefits through research and innovative re-use
- contribute to more effective government service delivery.
Non-sensitive data does not compromise commercially sensitive or security-relevant information. This includes physical, national, cyber, information and environmental security.
To protect privacy, when non-sensitive data comes from other data that includes personal information, we remove that personal information and take actions to reduce the risk of re-identification.
Open data portal
The Queensland Government’s open data portal is a user-friendly platform that makes it easy for anyone to discover and access this open data.
Support for other agencies
Our department has responsibility for the Queensland Government Open Data Office.
We support other Queensland Government agencies to publish open data through the development and delivery of whole-of-government data strategy, policy, platforms and tools to enable better management, access and use of data in government.
